Bill is 37, Emma is 36, Jacob is 15 and Abigal is 14, Levi is 1
Emma and Bill might have celebrated their fifteen year anniversary, but love was very thin between them.
Bill was still angry at Emma for running up the credit card bill buying Christmas presents. It was a waste of money that they didn't have.
Emma didn't see what the big deal was since the children were happy with their gifts.
After Bill responded that he didn't have to run up the credit card purchasing items for his children, Jacob and Abigal could tell by their mother's face that the "discussion" was about to get heated.
"What the fuck do you mean by that?!?!"
Even though they had moved upstairs to their master bedroom, their voices carried.
"It's obvious that one of these things is not like the other...one of these things doesn't belong!"
It was a long and restless night for the family.
"Jacob?" Abigal asked holding Levi on her hip.
Jacob nodded and texted Olivia.
Can we come over?
Yes-meet you at the door.
Olivia snuck downstairs and let her friends into the home.
"I couldn't get the blankets, sorry. They're in my aunt's room."
"It's ok, thanks for letting us crash again."
"No problem. Good night."
"Olivia?"
"Hmmm?"
"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas."
Oh geez, Christmas isn't really the time to get into any of that! Poor kids, I'm glad they had a place to go for the night.
ReplyDeletePoor kids. Even without hearing that screaming match, the tension in that household would be palpable and definitely noticed by the children. I'm glad they had somewhere to crash, though I wish they hadn't needed it.
