One of my sims got pregnant...again. So they needed to move, which was unfortunate since their current place fits them so well. While thinking about the options available in my hood, I couldn't think of anything that was big enough or their style, so I built something for them.

I found an image online in the style I wanted


and ended up with this, funny enough I'm thinking about having this replace my High Dre Turnabout Rental Homes

each unit has three bedrooms and a private backyard but the middle unit is larger.



I decorated one unit to show an example of the apartment.

Johan knew that he would have to do something about school enrollment soon. Jasmine Frankson's class was still bursting at the seams. Not only that, but Jasmine was growing larger with the impending birth of her third child.

There were perks to being related to the hood council president, but they were not that different from the perks associated with being a trust fund baby, Si'Enya thought as she climbed into bed.

Follower Series: Danielle

I've always found interesting new blogs by looking through the lists of followers and commenters, not only on my own site, but the sites of others. I thought that I would do a monthly profile of the followers of Apple Valley so that others can see some of the other great blogs that are out there. I only chose the sim related blogs of followers (no personal or non-sim blogs) and of course there are many followers that do not have a personal blog.

Danielle has a sim's related blog called Crystal Creek.

The Crystal Creek neighborhood started in 2007 and the blog started in 2010 and follows the lives of six main families. The blog features updates into the lives of the families during rounds and there are plenty of sidebar links to help you navigate the site.

Bill's new job as a field researcher often has him leaving early and staying late at the office after field work and then arriving home even later. Emma has been trying not to be upset, but sometimes her anger gets the best of her...like tonight.

Just in time for wedding season. I love Eris3000's wedding cakes, but my sims are a pretty diverse bunch and wanted some different options. Each cake is stand-alone and will not overwrite your other recolors for the eris3000 cakes.

My plans for 2009-2012 term

Assist in the management of family tree information
-The family tree is updated online with each new birth.

-Will work to establish birth/death years by the end of simyear 2012 for the prior 10 generations.

Collect community & residents registry
-Will continue to maintain basic residents information online for current (active) residents only. Updates will be once a simyear during the winter. Family photos will be updated every other simyear.

-By 2012 information will include: design preferences, badges, and former relationships.

-Must upload an updated map of the hood by 2009. Will upload a new map every other simyear.

-Started looking for TS1 photos to make a collection for families to have their historical photographs. A large portion of photos were lost when geocities closed.

-Look for another venue to host historical photos.

Test and implement 3rd party technology
-Continue culling CC folders of little use items, especially clothing imports.
-Also looking to compile and combine items and use more MAXIS meshes. By the end of 2012 convert all custom rug textures to maxis rugs.
-Starting compressing items every simyear in the winter

-Cull imports each simyear

Perform back-ups of resident information:

-Backups are currently after each season
-Backups are currently stored on an external drive, will start uploading important information online such as residents' DNA, and important building plans. Residents' DNA will be added after their toddler birthday, while building plans will be added after significant changes. We will make building plans available to other hoods at their own risk.

Serve as local reporter:

Manage the Historical Society:
-Have all 1/4 of current residents' family history complied by 2012

It had taken a little bit longer for Ajani and Rayne to move out, not that Rebecca and Julio minded.

Kent Decor Scheme: Design Inspiration, Part 1

Decided to do a post detailing step by step my process for decorating my sims homes.

Meet Jesse and Fiona Kent, readers of my story blog are familiar with these two. Their house burned down-aka, I broke it ^_^ and after rebuilding a new house, they now need to decorate it. We're going to start with the living room.

Using their design preferences I make note of them:

Jesse: Black, contemporary
Fiona: Red, traditional

I then search for the perfect color combination, I use Color Combos to see the combinations, they have a combo library of pre-set combinations as well as a combo tester to pick your own color combinations. I chose three colors to be used for their living room.

After picking the colors I make a list of what I will need for the living room. The Kent family doesn't watch television and they need space for a television in their living room. Fiona is in the law career and entertains quite often while Jesse works at a high school and prefers to lounge while listening to jazz.

After the list, I chose a few patterns for the room. The patterns will be used on the curtains, pillows, walls and even seating.

Now I am ready to go "shopping" with a few ideas in mind.
