Bulb Lofts

Bulb Lofts, a refurbished light bulb factory-Bulb, Inc. I was planning on building a larger urban apartment complex for young professionals and recent graduates with higher paying salaries. One of the apartments (#3A) was the answer to Buffy's Person Below Me Challenge.
The five level lot sits on a 2x1 lot. Works best when the back is next to another building and is surrounded by other buildings in an urban area.

Layout Level 1:
Lobby for the apartment complex and eceltic coffee shop with side yards for resting and grilling. Have no fear, the hacks are not included.


Layout Level 2:
#2A and #2B are small studio apartments. Perfect for those sims who are short on simoleans and could care less about space.

Layout Level 3:
#3A is a 2BD/2BTH apartment. See it fully decorated in this thread.

Layout Level 4:
#4A is a 3BD/2BTH apartment great for roommates or a small family. Since the complex isn't family friendly, the landlord suggests that roommates move into this apartment as opposed to a family of noisy little ones.


Layout Level 5:
#5A is the penthouse of the lofts. This 1BD/1BTH features great views of the city and a private rooftop garden.


Layout Roof:
Private rooftop patio for #5A seperated by a row of plants for the common areas with a small stereo and lounge chairs. This is the perfect place for a party at night.


Side Yard #1, features a BBQ set and dining chairs for a quick meal.


Side Yard #2 features a fountain feature and benches to relax on and enjoy the cool summer nights.

Luxury Bath of #5A with multiple shower heads and rain jets in the massive walk in shower.

The Drip Coffee Shop has mediocre coffee, overpriced magazines and a few spots to watch sims walk by and enjoy a poorly performed rendition of Aerial Bionic's "Will You Wright the Way"

Prospect Reduex

I liked the Prospect for Dee by Sims Urbania, but wasn't a fan of the multilevel ground floor apartment, so I redid the complex with a few changes.

The complex has a grunge vibe with hints of a bygone era of glamour to the apartments, but now time has caused its damage.

The complex has four apartments in different styles


The basement apartment is home to the resident rock-star wannabe bachelor. He dreams of stardom on the stage, but in reality spends his days doing landscaping with the occasionally side job of tending to the lady needs of some of the homes he is in charge of.



Animal prints galore and mirrors to open up the space and reflect light since there are no windows in the basement.


Check out the mirrors in the "love room" as he calls it ;)


Thr ground floor apartment is home to a psuedo single father and his twin sons. Mom is spending an extended holiday in the county jail thanks to "borrowing" money from her boss at the record store.



Dad works as a server at Mama's Diner and pulls a second shift as a janitor at a private school, which enables him to enroll the boys there for free tuition.



Every Saturday morning, they have pancakes and eat in front of the TV watching cartoons and morning football.


The boys are seven years old and still love cartoons and sports. Dad was lucky enough to sign them both up for the neighborhood soccor league and have thier equiptment donated.


The second floor apartment is home to a world traveler and current pyshic phone friend.

When not on the phone guiding sims about future decisions, she is hitting the thrift stores for great one of a kind finds.

So far she has been able to use her savings to travel to thirteen countries and

bring back souveniors. This is possible thanks to a strudy bookbag, popup tent and fast legs.


She is content with her wandering life and doesn't mind having to quit each job whenever she is ready to travel.


The top floor apartment is home to two sisters who moved to the big city from the country

The sisters have many touches of home to comfort them and sometimes just looking at mama's quilt is enough to bring back smells of fresh lard on the stove and the sounds of crickets in the nighttime air...instead of car horns and factory smoke.



They have thier own dreams, big sister wants to be a famous movie actress and is passing the time with selling ties until a famous director comes across her path.


Little sister, the more practical of the two, cleans homes as she experiments with flower arranging. Her goal is to attend the local technical university and one day work at a florist shop.

Until thier dreams come true, they are content with thier little slice of the city.

Sawyer Lofts

Ok, another apartment lot. I have some university students with a bit of money and they will be looking for a stylish apartment. This apartment would be great for your uptown part of town where all the hip young professionals and professors live.

Sawyer Lofts is a 2x1 lot with five levels, there isn't much behind the building, maybe some room for your dumpsters or hack objects.
Rent $1608-$1670



The bottom floor features a small workout room and lounge area for some coffee. If you have the shopping enabled on apartments mod, then there should be a barista as well. There are a few vending machines as well as a spot to pay your rent.

a blurry third floor, again sorry, I probably shouldn't crop the photos in photobucket anymore. 2 bedroom, 2 bath perfect for roommates that need a sense of privacy. The apartment has a sense of "halves" to it with shared kitchen and living space.


4th floor, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, perfect for roommates or a small family that doesn't mind living in a building with young hip single professionals whom hold heated debates over espresso.


5th floor, 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Perfect unobstructed view of the city with plenty of space to entertain and throw hip parties.
