Student Affairs, 2004

Resar 2004
mini-update
The students have returned from the Blessed Harvest holidays with a surprising sense of excitement. Johan has his hands busy with the elementary crowd, thirteen little ones! Jesse, the high school and junior high teacher has a light load of two, Rojo and Verde who's a senior this year.
Johan hopes that a sim will answer the call to become an elementary school teacher soon. He can barely keep up with the large crowd along with his other duties as Educational Director. His focus this fall is Annie and Bryant Grey. The twins haven't found a hobby or interest yet and he's trying to guide them.

He doesn't have to worry about child prodigy, Veronika Kent. At six simyears old, she's a dorce to reckoned with in the art community. She possesses a skill that very few adults have and she can spend hours perfecting a painting. Johan recently reviewed her skill exams and she passed the creativity portion with a score of nine out of ten! He hasn't seen a score so high since...never! Even when he consulted Antonio Herendez, an exceptional artist, the man was stunned with the score and with the skill level of the child.

Not only was she exceptionally gifted, but she was emotionally matureas displayed by her affection towards Grace Elise after another student teased her.
"It's ok, remember sticks and stones may break your bones, but their words are beyond stupid."
Johan often amused himself by watching Veronika, she was very much like her mother. She had a way of making every sim feel comfortable

and if you didn't know another sim, she was the one to oversee the introductions.

No matter how much he tried to amuse himself with watching the elementary students, Johan still had to take two painkillers before attempting to teach the rowdy group. Hopefully he would find a teacher soon, otherwise...well, he didn't know what he would do.

Randomizing Zodiacs

I've been running reports in excel for my sims and noticed that the zodiacs were in no case random-more like I continuously clicked either Gemini, Aquarius or Libra for my simmies. I've decided to reassign zodiacs-mostly for children, but a few single adults as well, to make the numbers more random and inject a bit more genetic diversity. I'm curious to see if this bumps up my low ACR scores in the hood.

Thus far ACR scores have increased, however, they have not increased like I thought they would. For example, before changing zodiacs S'Ahmisa and Verde had a solid 1 bolt. I didn't alter thier zodiac, yet when I viewed thier ACR, they were a solid 3 bolts. Perhaps this is because they were set to independent teens.

I have also noticed that the scores change a bit more, perhaps this is because of the dynamic token status. Nothing major, but my couples seem to alter scores by +/- 4 points depending on the time of day :P

I'm happy to finally have a little more variety, it won't really take place until I alter personality traits as well. I think I'll alter the genetic personality traits of children and younger so that the personality can pass on via DNA.

Thankful, 2004

Resar, fall, 2004
Bradford is 40, Suzanna Carr is 39, Laci is 6, Lilly is 3 simlonic months old.

The McMillian house was full of noises this fall. The sound of Laci and Alan playing in the backyard blended in with Lilly's cries for more milk and the laughter of the two happily in love parents.

A new sound joined the family that fall, the sound of the previous meal leaving Suzanna's stomach. She knew that they were pregnant right away. They had been trying almost as soon as Lilly was born.

Laci took the news very well.

"Another baby? That's so cool! Will it be a boy this time? I don't mind a baby brother, but I like baby sisters the best."

"We'll have to see when the baby arrives," Bradford explained standing up to sit on the much more comfortable couch.

"Please, please can it be a baby sister? Maybe twin baby sisters like cousin Veronika?" Laci begged.

Suzanna lifted her weary body off the floor as well. The thought of twins hadn't crossed her mind until then.

"We'll see, Laci."

"Oh, thank you!" she said hugging the woman. "I have to tell Veronika!"

"Wait, Laci. You will be able to tell Veronika when they come over for Blessed Harvest Day."

"But I want to tell her now. She said that auntie Fiona and uncle Jesse brought her a new easel and that it cost a lot of money, but I don't care anymore since I'm going to get another baby sister-maybe even twin baby sisters and they cost more than a stupid easel, right daddy?"

"Eh, yes, babies do cost more than an easel."

"Please can I call her and tell her now?"

"Not now, tomorrow. Now, it's almost bedtime, so why don't you feed Alan and Mr. Wombat and Ms. Birdie?"

"Ok!"

"Can you imagine twins?" Suzanna whispered.
"If they're anything like Laci and Lilly then we're going to need a lifetime supply of coffee."
***

The Blessed Harvest celebration was smaller than Suzanna had anticipated. At the last minute, Bill had called to say that he was celebrating with his friend, Krissy instead. Instead the Kent/McMillian clan crowded into the spacious townhouse and enjoyed each other company.
All the little girls were in a great mood, which for five girls ranging in ages from 3 simlonic months to 6 simyears old wasn't an easy feat.

Suzanna fought to hold down her breakfast while chatting with her brother. She didn't think vomit on his new shoes would be a great start to celebrating Blessed Harvest Day.
"Are you ok?"
"I'm great, a little tired, but alright. How were your trips to Simmington Hills? You just returned from the Mayor's Ball, right?"

"It was great! It's amazing how vastly different the hoods of the world are. Things have really improved since the hurricane and the hood looks better than ever. We were able to meet with a lot of sims from different communities as well."

"What about the wedding, how was that?"
"The wedding was packed! There were so many sims celebrating with Ray and Lydia."

"I love weddings, each sim is so happy and there's always good food." Suzaana teased.
"Yes, the food was good, but I'm sure dinner tonight will be great as well. What did you cook?"
"Well, Sugar Coated Turkey cooked a wonderful roast turkey meal complete with all the side dishes and a decadent dessert. We didn't have the energy to cook a meal."

They sent the girls upstairs to eat thier meal in Laci's room.
"I like your room. The colors are very pretty. Do you want me to paint a picture for your room on my new easel?"

"Yea, a pretty picture please."

"All my pictures are pretty."

"I know. Maybe a picture of a flower, like the one you did in art class."

"Ok."

"Guess what?"

"What?"

"My daddy and mommy are having a baby."

"You mean Lilly?"

"No, another baby."

"Another baby. Are you happy?"

"Yea, Lilly is ok. She cries a lot and smells funny, but not as funny as Alan. Mommy said that when she gets older she will be more fun. She's fun now if you play with her in her swing. She giggles and sometimes Alan comes in and licks her toes and then she giggles so loud that Mr.Wombat runs around his cage in circles. Whay don't you have any pets?"

"I asked my parents for a puppy, they said that I have two little sisters and that's all the pets I need."

Downstairs the adults were enjoying thier meal and discussing recent events.

"We have some exciting news!" Bradford gushed ignoring his wife's glare.
"Honey, we can tell them later."
"Tell us what?"
"Suzanna, tell them."
"We're pregnant. We were going to tell you later this evening, but I guess Bradford decided that now is the best time."
If Suzanna wasn't trying to keep her food down she would have laughed at her brother and sister-in-law's matching shocked expressions.
"Pregnant? But Lilly isn't even one simyear old yet."
"Was it an accident?"
"No, it wasn't an accident, Jesse! We know, but when you get to be our age babies don't come as easily."
"Apparently they come easily for you two," Jesse teased. "This calls for a toast, with water of course. Congratulations to the new expansion."
"Or expansions," Fiona teased.
"So, what are you thankful for?" Suzanna asked later that evening once all the guests had left and children were asleep.
"Honestly?"
"No, lie to me. Of course honestly."
"Your kisses. Each day they remind me that all life requires is the the simplist of conversations to change the direction of your path. Your kisses remind me that if it wasn't for so many little conincidences that I wouldn't have you in my life, or Lilly, or the newest baby. What about you? What are you thankful for?"
"You."
----
Baby McMillian is due Patar 2005. I giggled aloud when I saw the matching expressions from Jesse and Fiona after they announced thier pregnancy. I adore the twins Jessica and Jennifer, I think the Carrs have some excellent genes since they are making some cute babies lately.

How to Spend a Free Afternoon, 2004

Resar, fall, 2004
mini-update
Jesse managed to convince Fiona to leave her desk at the council office and spend the afternoon with him. A new observatory had opened beside the simion ruins on the island. It wasn't really an observatory, but more like a small diner with glass walls and views of the surrounding sea and ruin.

After spending an hour touring the ruins, the couple stops for a quick cup of coffee.
"It's a very interesting piece of history, almost like art. I hope to bring the students here."
Fiona nodded. "It is a nice way to spend an afternoon. It's so quiet and peaceful and empty."
Over lunch, they marveled again about the emptiness of the hood. It seemed like all the sims were gone as there wasn't any activity around at all.
"I never knew that it was so quiet in the middle of the day."
"Well, with most sims at work, there's not a lot of action going on...but we could change that."

And change that they did. It was a quick shedding of the clothes on a bench behind a large floral arrangement, hidden from any eyes that might happen to walk by.
"I can't believe we did that!"
"Do you regret it?"
"I regret not doing it sooner! Wow!"

Who's That Girl? 2004

Fall Semester 2004
Bill Carr is a junior; Susie MacAstral is a freshman

Bill's junior year was off to a great start. His grades were stellar and he could often be found in the arms of Krissy. It was Krissy's senior year and Bill hoped that the woman wouldn't start pressuring him for an engagement ring, but so far she hadn't mentioned anything about thier future...or lack thereof.
Not to say that Bill hadn't been thinking about it. He knew that if he were to persue a relationship, Krissy would be a safe sim to do so with. She was perfect, giving him enough space to focus on school, yet supporting his dreams by sending him care packages during his internship last summer. To be honest, Bill didn't want to think about thier future, it was safer focusing on his research.

There was also a new student on campus, a student who had blossomed into "a delicious speciman of a woman" according to Bill.

Susie was familar with Bill, afterall he dated her foster sister throughout thier teenaged years. She wouldn't reveal if she thought of him as more than a big brother since it wasn't exactly good for family relations to date the ex-boyfriend of your foster sister.

Susie didn't have a lot of time to think about Bill and the appreciative glances he sent her way. She was busy exploring the campus with her roommate, Amy. Amy hailed from Ratskcor Cove and was determined to major in forensic science.

"I would love to be one of those dectectives that can solve a case based on the smallest bit of evidence."

"Have you ever worked for a police station before?"

"No, but I worked for a private dectective once."

"Really? How was that?"
"Boring. I mostly filed papers and then the firm closed. FYI, never kiss your secretary in the file room, especially if you forgot that your husband has access to the survillence tapes."
Bill wasn't the only student to notice Susie, even the RA made a pass at the young woman. She was flattered, but decided to take things slowly. If she learned anything from Faith it was not to jump headfirst into a relationship, no matter what your heart is telling you.
In bewteen dance classes, rehearsals for the student shows, chatting with her brother who was attending the University of Riverdale,

and term papers,
Susie made time to continue to persue her interest in the Way of the Happy Medium
and practice her abnormal skills.

Her mentor and crush, Liam, visited the campus to check on her progress.
"It's hard work, but I am still dedicated to the movement." Susie reassured him.
Liam nodded. If he were perfectly honest, he would have to say that this visit had nothing to do with her progress. He knew that she had blossomed into a beautiful young woman. It was almost as if she were ripe, he could smell the lushness of her surround him, her skin radiant and glowing. He was familar with several spells and incantations, but this was a new one. He was captivated by her eyes, her silky hair, even her crooked tooth.
"Hello? Did you hear me?" Susie asked.
He didn't answer her, at least he didn't answer her verbal question. He knew that she wouldn't refuse his kiss. He was well aware of her teenaged crush on him, but protocals were protocals and he couldn't risk muddying the movement's reputation with an illicit relationship with a minor.
She wasn't a minor anymore, thank goodness. She was all woman, curves and softness, hips and smooth lips, hair scented with jasmine and gooseberry and a mouth that tasted like watermelon.

Yes, she wasn't a minor anymore, but did she still have the same feelings for him now that she was surrounded with men throwing themselves at her feet?
