Bringing Home Baby, Hapar 2020

Hapar, spring, 2020

Emma Carr is finally going to meet her newest child.

Baby Levi came after a fairly easy birth. He had bright brown eyes and dark black hair like his mother.

Everyone in the family was glad to meet him.

Even Emma's boss stopped by to say congratulations.

Carmela has taken it upon herself to get into shape. She decided walking would be the best thing for her to do.

That's how Lainey found her, miles from home. Carmela was lost and disoriented. She barely recognized Lainey.

Lainey offered to pay for a nurse to help with Carmela, the illness is getting out of hand.

Verde didn't take the offer well, he felt that she was accusing him of being a bad caregiver, emasculating him by throwing money in his face.

Lainey tried to reason with him, it wasn't that at all. She never wanted to hurt Verde. She cared for Carmela like the woman was her own mother. Could she please help with the care of Carmela.

Verde is moved by her statement, he never knew that Lainey felt so deeply about Carmela. Of course he agreed.

It seemed like their relationship was taking a turn for the better.

  1. "Even Emma's boss stopped by to say congratulations." LOL I reread the post where Emma made a deal with Harris regarding the baby's paternity and I got to thinking. Emma said she could always lie about the date of her last period to square things with Bill but is she really lying to Harris to get money and the baby really is Bill's?

Oh, and what is Harris' last name? And have we met his family in other posts? You have so many families with a long time between their updates that I easily forget who's who.

Welcome to the Sandwich Generation, Verde. I so wish Carmela was able to have a happy elderhood. I like how you worked with her ROS of walking as it so fits with how in her adulthood she was exercising in an effort to trim down and in her dementia that would pop back up as a concern.

    1. This time Emma is telling the truth to Harris, she was going to pass the baby off as Bill's originally before having a talk with Tyisha with how to get her job back using the baby's paternity. But this baby belongs to Harris. Yes, you have met his family lots of times. Harris Frankson. His wife is Jasmine Frankson-a teacher at AVA, his oldest son is Erricson-who met his girlfriend Annie Grey during a tour to the museum-and his sister-in-law is Krissy Pentragnani. Hope that helps explain who is who. Thanks for reading and commenting

  2. It's probably a good thing Levi looks so much like Emma - not sure whether that will deflect suspicion or not, especially since Harris did drop in to see the baby.

I have a neighbour who suffers from dementia, so I understand what's going on with Carmela. I too wish she could have a happy elderhood - glad Lainey and Verde have come to an agreement to help her get the care she needs.

    1. Hopefully Levi will continue to look more like Emma, though he has Harris' eyes. Once he ages to toddler, we will see what his facial structure looks like. Thanks for reading and commenting

  3. Levi has black hair - probably a good thing!

Poor Carmela and poor Verde. :( I'm glad he saw that Lainey was only thinking of what is best for Carmela and not criticising him. Taking care of someone with dementia is no easy task for one person, especially when it advances as it tends to do. Some help for him will be good for everyone.

    1. Oh yes, but even if Levi was redheaded like his siblings, Emma would explain it as coming from Bill. Emma is lucky that both men share the same hair and skin color, but Levi did get his father's eyes, so I'm not sure when/if Emma will have to explain that since all of Bill's children (including his daughter, Indira, that he gave up for adoption) have his blue eyes. 4. Oh, poor Carmela. :( I've worked with elders with dementia and it's definitely on my list of things I really, really, really hope I won't ever have in my life.

  5. Poor Carmela. I'm glad she has family to care for her, and concern for her well-being.

Very curious who Levi will look like when his has his first birthday.

    1. For the sake of Harris and his marriage, here's hoping that Levi favors his mother more. Thanks for reading and commenting.
