Adoption

Why is it taking so long!!!! Nicole and I want this baby so badly! We passed the adoption proceedings, but we were delayed with the repairs. Then we had to get special help from the hood council to pass the new adoption proceedings and the agency promised to bring our baby the next simday, well it passed and no baby!

Why is it the one thing we want the most seems impossible to get? Maybe I am to learn patience from this ordeal. I need to work on my sermon for simWednesday...patience is a viture...patience.

More Datez

Sazo and I are spending lots of tiem together/ I loves him a lot. I think he loives me too! We talk about loves and maybe soon we will whoohoo and maybe soon we will marry and have babies.

Future

Should I be a chef? Or a baker? I like to bake-my best recipes are for tri-tier lemon almond chocolate torte. Yummy. I need to study more...will mom and dad be disappointed that I won't take over the business? Maybe I could start my own business. Sell cakes in my spare time. Maybe I'll work with CupaJava. They're starting a bakery section in thier shop. I can bake. I'll bake all day!

Update

Ellsworth is considering retirement, I don't know why-he just started his new position.

Johan decided to abadon the medical field and go into education. Ellsworth is a bit upset and I admit I am disappointed as well, however Johan is better off for education than the medical field...I don't think he would have survived.

SUN Exchange

Clark signed us up for the SUN Exchange. Why did he do that?

So far there has not been a hood to sign up to switch with us, so maybe we won't go...although I would like to see another hood. I have never traveled outside these walls. I hear there are amazing things in other hoods-some have zombies, others have aliens of all colors, others have...sims like Zaida.

Her Eyes...

Her eyes haunt me.

I still desire her.

We shared illicit kisses and forbidden touches.

Can't be good.

Why does it feel so good?

Television

Oh, my. It has been a rather busy simday.

The photographers from "Celebrity Homes" arrived and we gave them a tour of the house. Tom and I updated our wills, we don't have much longer here. I can feel it.

Words Are Fun!

I was named the captain of the debate team at school. It was only a matter of time before the team saw my capabilities and now I will lead the team to success. We will capture the victory at the finals!

O, I have a job after school. I do not have to work, we have plenty of money since we're one of the oldest families in the hood, but I wanted the experience. I am a receptionist at the law firm downtown. Not much to do, I answer the phone and file cases. Occasionally I peek at the files and try to learn the lingo. I've determined that I want to be a lawyer. What a great way to make a living-talking all day long and arguing. Perfect!

Like...Moi!

The hood council is letting us host the Apple Dumpling Ball, it's just for teens. Hazel Starr and I are on the planning committee. I think we should invite some hot celebrity guys. I need a great dress, especially since I'm way hotter than every other girl in this hood-even Hazel Starr isn't hotter than me. She's my BFF, but not hotter than moi! Maybe I should go to Francia for university-the guys there are sooo hott. The guys in the hood are not my type-not cool enough. I need to find a date, maybe I'll be hotter if I go solo-yea, hotter solo.

My Dad Refuses

Dad refuses to transfer the business over to me until I marry! This is getting ridiculous! This past simday, dad suffered from a heart attack. We thought we were going to lose him and Dad even said that he saw death face-to-face. He doesn't have much longer to live and I would get control over the business anyway, but...I wish he would hand it over to me now instead after I find a wife. Dad has sent letters back to relatives in Hacienda Bay and apparently there's a woman coming here soon. I don't care. I'm willing to marry just about anyone right now in order to get the business.

Is This Love?

Is this love? I spend so much time with Sandy, looking into her blue eyes, touching her red hair. I think I may love her...does she love me...for me? Does she care that we own a business and have plenty of simoleans?

Mom and Dad are elders. They have stepped back and left the house to me, well, the apartment. Sandy inhabitants the lower apartment. I decorated the apartment in colors of Africa. Rich golds, reds and burnt oranges. I found furniture from Parasimous and Sims2Play. I am working with A.Pentragnani to create some clothing for me, I want to wear the clothes of African royalty. Mom has the need to remind me that the Kents hail from Tiki Island in the Carribean, however an ancestor of ours, Claudette Walker, has ties in Zimbya on the western African plains. It doesn't matter very much that I don't have direct ties to Africa, but I want to honor my ties.

I wonder if Sandy and I marry will we rent out the lower apartment or simply expand and use the downstairs as part of our home. The upper apartment is only two bedrooms, we could squeeza a third bedroom by adding on over the part of the hallway that looks down on the entrance foyer below. It would be a small room 2x3, but enough for a crib and some toys. Will we have children? Right now I can't worry about such matters, I have a business to prepare for. Dad is stepping back even more and leaving me more in charge. In fact we're supposed to go to dinner and celebrate his transfering the ownership of CupaJava over to me.

CupaJava is preparing for domination :] We are importing more delicious varieties of coffee beans and we're going to sell those beans as well. Also, Dad is going to bake his famous cakes and we're going to sell those as part of the bakery section and we're expanding the bookstore. CupaJava will now be a destination for a cup of cafe latte, the newest Sarry Potts book and a slice of lemon zest layer cake (or take the whole cake home).

I should go, I see Sandy outside.

Back

We just completed our first simday back on the rotation, things are different to say the least. I stayed at home all day, since I do not have a job as of yet. Tatiana has promised a job for me at her new resturaunt, but I must wait until every family has finished thier rotation. The day was ok, it rained, we fished in the morning and planted tomatoes. Then for two hours I opened the church office to sell candles while Lyndon fished some more and greeted the residents. A few expressed interest in attending service this simWednesday. I hope a fair number of residents come since the church needs a office for Lyndon to do counseling with the residents. An *unnamed* resident stopped by for advice and help and poor Lyndon had to talk with her in the rain under the willow tree. That night we ate fresh fish and talked about the new little one coming the next simday. Even though we had passed the adoption process before, our current savings were a cause for concern for the agency. We had to get the hood council president to call the agency and assure them that we would have enough simoleans to care for a child before they would confirm that they would have our child over soon, well the next simday. All we can afford is a crib at the moment, but soon...

Testing

I enjoyed roaming the hood and testing lots, only a few changes were needed. I spent time eating...a lot and even skating and drinking lots of juice and hot cocoa, eating fancy dinners and ice-cream and even going fishing-which I'm a natural at-can you imagine that!

First Date

Sazo and I spent the first day back on rotation looking at the clouds and enjoying the mild weather-even though there was snow on the ground. We then had dinner at my apartment-he was a sweetie and washed dishes. We even kissed---a lotz! I needz a job though, very little money left in my account :\

Things are much better

Things are much better, I have a clear plan.

First-I was chosen to test the lots for the hood, which is exciting. I've been visiting lots and doing last minute alterations to the lots and the travel time is so quick, very nice.

Second-I decided on a career...I think. I convinced the local florist to take me as a trainee. She agreed since her children don't want the business, but she didn't want to let it flop. So I will be learning how to arrange flowers, wait on customers and help them make desicions. I will get a small paycheck, about $100 a day, but I will be learning so much. First I will learn the cash register and then once I pass the test for a silver badge, I will learn some selling and customer relations skills until I pass the silver level for that as well. At nights when the shop is closed I will learn flower arranging and she will also pass on any perks and inside knowledge to me. The hard part will be that I will need to buy the shop from her once she decides to transfer ownership to me. She promised to work out a fair price, but I'm not sure how I will get the money. I might have to take a loan to pay her.

I will live in the small apartment above the shop and then once I own the shop and/or her youngest child moves out, I can buy the larger apartment from her.

Repairz Done

Repairz are done, which meanz I need to find a job. I didn't bring much money and the little money I have will go towards buying the bottom apartment at this place. I needs a job, maybe I could be a bartender at Tati's, they suppozed to have cool uniformz.

Sazo and I will go to Tiki Joe's for a quick dinner followed by rollar skatings! I can't wait. I need to do my hair, thankfully I get to get replacement clothing-for freez! I want some designer stuff, but who knowz. I'm hungry, tummy rumblez.

Pastoral Notes: Construction Starts

Lyndon Humphrey

Spring is here and construction on the rebuilding process is underway. It is fascinating to watch something come out of the ground from nothing. Perhaps I will have my first sermon about that amazing phenomenon.

I am nervous about taking my post as the new pastor. Nicole and I have been given a modest bonus as an incentive, besides we are able to live in the house-rent free, as well as recieve a modest weekly salary. Not much, about $500 a simweek which equates to about $70 a day. Nicole wants to get a job at the new resturaunt, Tati's. That should bring in some additional money, not much more, but a little bit more. We're also going to plant a small garden and fish in the local ponds for extra income/food.

The most exciting news is the addition to the Humphrey family and which will keep me rather busy when not drafting sermons, preaching or tending our garden. We're going to adopt a child. Hopefully this will be the first of three, but we shall see. It was a disappointment that we could not bear children, but at least now we will give a needy child a home. I am anxious to see the little one.

Contract

The hood council has asked us to supply some toys for one of the parks-so Rayne is making those spinning top things and her custom water-octi as well as a few kites for good measure. I need to make some more toy robots for the shop and try to spend some more time with the children. Thankfully we decided to keep the Toy Shoppe on our land and work from home. Which means the commute is shorter, but residents didn't like the option of not being able to chose when to come to the store and buy a little goody, perhaps we could have a big grand reopening sale/event. Select items would be heavily discounted, raffles for free toys and plenty of cake. Yes, cake. Maybe Ray could bake some cake. Ray will be leaving for university soon, I have no idea what that young man is going to do. His sister, Rebecca, has made it clear that she wants to take over the toy business and has been helping Rayne craft toys, she's been doing pet bricks and soon she'll know enough to make music boxes and kites. Roy, well Roy is toddling about, soon he'll celebrate his child birthday and head off to school. Nothing else is happening except my twin sister is having issues at home with mother, the twins and the hood council.

Jadhira Jadhira Jadhira

Ahhh, Jadhira. I hear your name whispered in the wind. The wind says you're the one for me, but is it true? I talked with Elaine, a distant relative, and she said that you and I would be good for each other. We talked on the telly when you asked me what color my hair and eyes were and you gathered information for the database. I hear that you're the serious type, quiet too, but that you lack skills and dropped out of university. O! O! Not sure if father will allow such a thing, but alas, I saw your picture on the website and I think we may have passed on the sidewalk, like lovers in the wind.

Present and Accounted For

Clark-check
Elda-check

We are newlyweds and live with the strange, but enchanting, woman, Zaida. What a lovely name, Zaida. Elda works as a jr. high biology teacher. The science career is full, so I am without a job at the moment. I think I would rather like to go into gaming and computer technology, perhaps even journalism and checking the facts. We have considered having a child, but perhaps it is best to wait a little while for such things, especially since we will need to move soon...I conjecture.

We're Aqui!

YeaHaw!

Astaire and I are married and we live in a duplex with my cousin, Salvador and his wife (also Astaire's ex >[ grrrr) next door. Salvador and I are in a band, The Blobs. We're gonna make some music videos for the local television stations, and maybe, just maybe they will send our videos to the rest of the world to watch! Wait until you see them. The concept is AMAZING! YA!
Maybe more residents will buy our albums, we need the simoleans, do we ever need the simoleans! Right now we play weekends at the Foundry, but all we gets are tips. TIPS! So I have to have a job and Astaire is trying to make it big in the professional hockey league, but honestly...he sucks! He's no good, but I loves him! YA! I don't know why his granny won't just give us some money, everyone knows his granny made lots of simoleans for acting, but nooooo, no simoleans for us! Pooh!

BIE!!! Rock on!!!

Hello

We have a blog now, how lovely. O, introductions.

We live in mother's manor, which will soon be mine. Father (Tom) and mother (Starr) are elders and I worry about them. They are aging rather quickly and are in danger of leaving us soon. Mother has been chosen to appear on the new show Celebrity Homes, so I must make sure everything is clean and shiny. O how I love to clean!

Matthew (my darling husband) and I (Cassandra) are both adults, though elderhood is creeping upon us. Our sons (Clark and Astaire) are married while our teenaged daughter, Hazel Starr, is behaving...very unladylike to say the least. She is constantly sneaking out of the home and has even started to be very tart at the mouth.

Thankfully the youngest (Ginger and Marilyn, both children) are little angels. Yes, they were our little surprises, but at this moment in our lives we needed the joy. Matthew is readjusting to being a father to such young children, but I love babies! If elderhood were not upon me I would consider having another child.

Otherwise things are going heaps good. The Historical Society is doing well, we're helping with the rebuilding process in our own way and I have finally gotten that strawberry stain out of the curtain in the kitchen.

Our son

Darrel-adult, one simday until elderhood
Elle-adult, one simday until elderhood
Sazo-adult

Our son claims that he has found the love of his life. I hate her. I wish he had chosen the other Simborough woman, she seemed to have more sense about her than...than this Sandy woman. *sigh* to make matters worse, she will be moving into the flat below us. Simoleans are simoleans to Darrel so it doesn't matter that he's opening the door for our son to fall in love with and possibly marry some...some twit.

Hello

Alia-elder
Ayanna-adult
Fidel-elder
Fiona-teen
Fedric-teen

I think we should enroll the twins in music lessons. Fiona is show strength in debate, she is trying out for the debate team while Fedric is looking into the chess club. I want them to be well-rounded individuals so that they will make it into university, especially since we passed the proposal for higher standards of education and students, thus increasing the criteria to enter university as well as increasing the fees. The university will now be run by the Apple Valley Hood Council and will bring in much needed revenue. It is a small university, but well worth it.

I think we should increase the salary of the council members, right now it's $1000 a simweek for each member, meaning we must have outside jobs as well. Thank goodness I have goals of being a mayor...soon, soon.

Changes in the House

A'ron-adult
Ka'obi-adult
Etta Leigh-teen
Tobi-teen

Mother and father are moving to the boarding house. Ka'obi and I are trying for another child. I don't have many scenes for Pahala Shore this season and my bit part in Arrendale Heights is almost over. You may have seen me in the latest episode as the prosecutor for the Hector case. Thankfully, my contract renewed for Pahala Shore so I have a job for the remainder of the year, Ka'obi is doing well with work. She's now selling insurance and is due for a promotion...hopefully. Etta Leigh is signed for another A.Pentragnani campaign and Tobi...well, Tobi is well. I hope he finds some interests soon.

My Son Needs a Wife

According to the memo I'm supposed to introduce the family:
Me (Luis)-elder
Antonio-adult
Julio-teen
Jorge-teen

Alvaro (Antonio's twin) immigrated to Simborough for the Gender Exchange and Salvador (oldest son) is living with his wife and daughter.

I am sending a letter to family members still in Hacienda Bay, Antonio needs a wife. He will do well managing the family business, he has an eye for art and is very wise in business. However, he needs a wife, a latina wife. Once he is safely married I will transfer the business over to him. Not before.
