Erosion, 2017

Peacar, winter, 2017
Benjamin Endeavor is 31, Ming Wu is 31; Xiang Hua Wu is 1

It was gradual

First a few toys for Xiang Hua

Then a playpen for her to take naps in

Then a crib so Ming wouldn't have to leave so early or walk a sleeping child home

Then a drawer of Ming's things in the guest room and a drawer of Xiang's things in another room

Their favorite food in the kitchen

And finally keys

Soon there wasn't a point of even returning home

And they officially moved in together...but not together

Ming insisted in separate rooms and discretion with overnight guests

She didn't want Xiang to see too much

But there were not any overnight guests

and slowly Ming and Xiang made their mark in the home. They helped redesigned the kitchen,

added child friendly art downstairs, moved championship trophies up high and our teddy bears down low.

It was gradual, but o so natural. Like the eroding of cliffs, or the movement of glaciers. So slow, so  indeceptible able until one day, it was there, as if it had always been there, right where it belonged.

  1. Aww. *wipes tear* This was a nice update from Ming, Xiang Hua and Benjamin. It's funny that Ming having another man's baby seems to have brought her and Benjamin closer together, but I'm happy that it's happened and they're becoming more of a family - although I can't see Ming changing too much. I know it took over twenty years as friends with benefits in KS, followed by a big move and a few more years, before Li and Casey settled down. :)

As an aside: Definitely baby-proof those trophies, Benjamin. Some of my friends have toddlers and it's amazing what they can get teeth marks on. :P

    1. I don't see Ming and Benjamin changing by choice, but more out of laziness, lol! Thanks for reading and commenting

  3. oh, this is one my favorite of all your updates. I love the way you wrote it, and of course it thrills me to see my (once little) Benjamin grow up and be happy with Ming and Xiang Hua.

  4. Aw, that's really sweet, honestly! Definitely quite grown up of Benjamin and Ming, living together with their baby. I bet they never saw that coming, even with their relatively non-traditional set-up.

  5. This was a wonderful update, how totally and utterly sweet. I really like how these two gradually mended their lives together, it wasn't a big moment or huge decision, they just fell into a new rhythm without big, scary talks ahead of time. Xiang Hua is super adorable too, happy to have so many glimpses of her in this one.
