Money Can't Buy Everything, Part 2, 2020

Lovar, spring, 2020
Rashid is 34; S'Ahmisa is 33; Sabazo is 5, Terilyn and Elsa are 3

A knock on the door reminded her of the time. She quickly tossed on the nearest set of clothes and went to their rooms.

She kissed them and tucked them in extra tight. She wanted to go to the hospital early, before they woke up, before they could ask questions.

The nurses nodded as she slipped into the room.

The sounds of the machines filling the air.

The very same machines that were keeping him alive.

"Hey baby, how are you today?

It's been three days...the doctors...the doctors are saying crazy things.

I need you to wake up now, baby.

I need you, Rashid. Our children need you.

How am I supposed to do this alone? I'm not going to do this alone.

You are going to wake up...

right?

...please...please wake up, Rashid.

I...I...I can't do this... I can't live without you.

I can't sleep...I can't eat...

everything...everything is useless...

worthless...without you here.

Rashid, baby...please...

please...

I'm begging you...

please wake up...

I don't know what to do without you...please...

Rashid...please...

  1. Oh no... this doesn't look good. Still, I seriously hope Rashid pulls through - for his sake and his family's. I can only imagine what poor S'Ahmisa is going through.

    1. S'Ahmisa isn't doing well. Her heart is lying in a hospital bed and not responding. I felt so bad putting her through these scenes and taking photos. Thanks for reading and commenting.

  2. Man, poor S'Ahmisa is so distraught. I hope she doesn't totally fall apart. I am going to be optimistic that Rashid will soon awaken and get well.

    1. Taking photos was heartbreaking for me, I felt like I was torturing S'Ahmisa and she kept giving me these looks of pure agony. Thanks for reading and commenting.

  3. I somehow missed that Rashid was in a coma and not already dead, so I'm sort of relieved. Not too relieved though, as things still don't look very good for him. I'm hoping he can pull through despite how dire it seems.

    1. I left the ending for the first part a bit vague on purpose, so you didn't miss anything :) Thanks for reading and commenting.

  4. This poor family! I am so glad that I'm behind on blogs so I can just fly through these! Terribly sad seeing S'Ahmisa in his hospital room, and those poor babies. Ugh!

    1. I didn't think about that, but that is a benefit of being behind in reading blogs-no anxiously waiting each week for an update, lol. Thanks for reading and commenting
