Taste of Unique, 2012

Patar, summer, 2012

Rojo still couldn't believe his luck.

When he had sent in the demo tape of his beats and the tracks that he produced, he dreamed about a phone call that would make him a superstar, but he never expected it.

Now he was in the studio, working with the famed production team Phil Lacksmith and Gina Hair. They said that he had unrefined talent and wanted him to work under them to learn the trade.

His first lesson was something the music industry dreamed of. It was a mega-collaboration bewteen the brightest stars in the business, coming together to record a charity song.

Aerial Bionic, Mellow Metal, Jimmie Page and Leaden Snow were all in the studio singing and playing their hearts out.

The energy was amazing and Rojo couldn't believe that he was a part of history in the making.

"We have to do this again," they said to each other.

The stars nodded and plans were made for various collaborations in the next few simlonic months. New records needed guest artists and songs were written as lunch was being delivered.

Travel plans were made for the artists to travel to each other's base hoods to record a few duets and magic was made in the studio that day.

That night, it was the explosive finale performance to the annual Apple Festival.

Leander Snow opened the show and gave Apple Valley residents a taste of his unique post-grunge, Indie rock sound.

"All we’ve known," he sung, "is what they told us!"

The crowd went wild and the women swooned over his good looks.

"What they told us....is all we've known!"

"Thanks again for having me Apple Valley!" Leander shouted to the crowd.

"Do you hear his accent? So dreamy!"

Next to the stage was Mellow Metal and Slade took over the microphone and swayed his hips.

He had remembered his lessons from Trevor of Aerial Bionic and made sure to make eye contact with the various women in the crowd instead of just focusing on one hot chick.

He wanted to laugh out loud when one teen girl nearly fainted as he directed the song towards her.

"He looked at me!" Ashlee squealed turning around in a giddy circle. She wasn't supposed to be here at the concert, since she was still under punishment, but what her parents didn't know couldn't hurt them. Besides, it was worth it to have Slade look at her and to ogle Kenny and Brian as they played.

Benjamin didn't see what all the fuss was about. Sure the guys were rockstars, but he was a superstar basketball player...well, not quite, but soon he would be.

"Thank you, Apple Valley! It's a pleasure to be here!"

Jimmie Page took the stage next, "Helllloooo, Apple Valley! Thanks for having me back!"

The crowd roared, it had been quite a few simyears since her last concert in the hood, but her fans still loved her.

She proved that she still had the talent to keep the crowd wild and hanging on to every song in her set.

She closed with "Distastrophe" from her latest album. "This is for you, Apple Valley!!!"

The final act of the night was Aerial Bionic, and Si'Enya was perhaps the most pleased in the crowd to finally see her boyfriend again.

She loved watching him perform and tried not to swoon, but it was hard as he took her in with his bedroom eyes and sexily growled out their song, "Forbidden".

She remembered sitting with him as he wrote the song and plucked out the first notes on his bass.

"What we have is forbidden/but tell me, baby, how can that be/with you my blind eyes finally see/with you my bounds break and I am free"

It was so much fun having all the celebraties invade my hood. This won't be the last time you see them here since there are lots of collaborations planned.

Thanks to Simberry Fields for Jimmie Page and Leander Snow

Thanks to LaQuest Beach for Mellow Metal

  1. How exciting! I loved seeing Mellow Metal in Apple Valley! Ha, of all the great advice I'm sure Aerial Bionic gave the guys, of course Slade would remember how to flirt more efficiently with the female audience members lol. I love the idea of the collaboration and the charity song, what a great idea! And wow, Rojo is well on his way isn't he? That must have been so surreal to him!

    1. I'm surprised that Slade didn't get into more trouble while he was here, though there will be another chance to see the group thanks to a duet. Maybe he'll keep up the good behavior...or not :P Thanks for commenting and reading.

LOL at Ashlee - not surprised she was front and centre. And Si'Enya, ever the devoted girlfriend. :)

    And well done, Rojo!
