Brandon is 35, Ilila is 34, Jude and Brooklyn are 4; Audrey is 3 simlonic months
The spring was quieter than the previous fall in the Peterson household.
They still mourned the death of their son, Zachary, while trying to celebrate the life of their three children.
It was a quiet day in Brandon's office when his private phone rang. He was mildly astonished to recognize the President's voice on the other end of the phone line. Apparently, there is credible evidence that a major satellite may be breaking orbit irregularly, putting it at a crash risk with several highly populated areas. It's a serious concern, and the President wants his advice as a vertain of land, air and space. Should they make an emergency shuttle launch to intercept the satellite, or should they attempt to use their sophisticated missile system to vaporise the falling satellite into harmless debris? Brandon did a quick analysis and determined that it's safer and cheaper to neutralize the satellite than to try and salvage it. Thankfully, the missile makes it mark and destroys the satellite far from any signs of civilization, and the debris falls harmlessly over the ocean. Brandon was privately commended and received a §55,000 reward for averting a disaster. He still wasn't sure why the call was directed to him and not to the general, but he wasn't about to say no to the President.
Ilila's job was busier thanks to the approval to more forward with building separate primary and secondary schools. When she wasn't at work, she was thinking about the plans for the buildings and how to ensure that there was plenty of room for the current group of students and for any growth as well.
No matter how busy their work lives were, Brandon and Ilila always made time for each other,
even if all they could manage was a meal together before the children woke up.
I'm glad Brandon and Ilila are coping after Zachary's death. They must be so heartbroken still but life has to go on as well.
ReplyDeleteNice work by Brandon with that chance card too!
Yea, the money will come in handy for them. Thanks for reading and commenting.
DeleteOh how sad, but they seem to be doing as well as they can under the circumstances. Parents never expect to have to bury their own children, such a tragedy. I'm sure they will continue to heal as best they can.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's definitely not something expected and always heartbreaking. They are slowly healing, thanks for commenting and reading.
DeleteZachary's death was so sad to read, I'm glad they are coping with the loss. They both have so much going on with their careers, it's nice they take time for each other.
ReplyDeleteThese two are some busy bees when it comes to careers especially since both are in the hood council as well. Thanks for reading and commmenting.
