When the Bell Rings, 2017

Hapar, spring, 2017

Principal: Ilila Peterson; Secondary Teacher: Simlish & History: Jesse Kent; Secondary Teacher: Math & Science: Krissy Thorn

Secondary Students:
Gerald Frankson is in the 12th grade; Esther Dawson and Breckin Grey are in 10th grade; Amyra Dawson, Chase Dawson, Lara Grey, Jennifer Kent and Jessica Kent are in 9th grade; Lilly Ana McMillian, Udar Shazad, and Alia Shae Wilsonoff-Sagacious are in 8th grade; Indira Grey, Jeremy Kent, and Lora McMillian are in 7th grade

Just when I think I finally have a routine, things change. The curriculum standards need to be updated and I have been working on my report to submit to the hood council.

My teaching staff is doing excellent work as always. There have been a few class research projects going on, which meant lots of speeches

and lots of research in the library.

I'm not naive enough to think that only research happens there. I'm aware that's where relationships are made official and kisses are passed.

Also where bullying occurs

and I have to step in to remind them that the school has a no tolerance policy against bullying. Thankfully this time, it was an honest mistake. It was simply two friends rough housing. Which earned them both some extra after school detention time dusting the library shelves.

Our students thankfully are not falling behind and many of them graduate with more credits then they need.

I know that this is due to the hard work of my teachers, so I try to make sure that they know I appreciate them.

I usually cover lunch duty so that they can eat their meals in peace and I slip little motivational notes and muffins on their desks in the morning as well.

I am looking to expand our staff again. We need a permanent gym teacher, most of the time the kids stand there idly. I have to direct them to try out the different equipment and games.

Only then will they disperse to work out on the treadmills, punching bags or play a game of basketball.

We also need a permanent art teacher, I don't know how much guidance they're getting from me telling them to paint something. Hopefully, I can find one or two sims to do all the elective classes including the trade skills classes like shop and home ec.

Our extracurricular activities are expanding. The debate team recently made it to regionals.

I admit, our team was stellar. We have some great members who get their practice getting out of assignments with their teachers.

All that practice was great since we got first place! I'm so proud of them.

  1. Muffins? Muffins! I want to work at your school!

Congratulations to the debate team, getting out of assignments does have its uses. That trophy display looks great with all the converted deco. The ones who are just standing around in the gym do make it look like you need one or two more teachers, but hopefully Ilila can find someone soon.

    1. The secondary school is just short of teachers and has been for a while. I think I'll grab a townie or have some playables get part time jobs. Thanks for reading and commenting

  2. This really is a great school - both in decoration and in academics! The teachers are awesome, the kids are challenged and doing well and seem happy (mostly) and the principal is way better than any principal I've ever worked for! Ilila is a dream principal.

Debate is such a great idea and easy to set up too. I should do that, once I finally have a school again! That was something I would have enjoyed in school, if I hadn't been so shy. I really enjoyed it when I ran an introductory debating class for Year 4 kids, when I was a student teacher.

    1. Thanks, I'm enjoying the secondary school since there is still some extra space that I can convert if I need to. The primary school has already rand out of space so they might have to borrows the secondary schools facilities in the future. I have a lot of fun planning events for the school it makes it a little more interesting than the usual write up especially since I don't write from a students perspective. I can't wait until you get your school back up and running. Thanks for reading and commenting.

  3. The debate team, how awesome! Really love that their hard work paid off, and the display looks perfect with their reward! Good luck filling the staff up, I have the same dilemma with my high school. Townies is a good idea or part-time, that could be a parent helping to sub or a senior subbing for some extra income.

Kissing in the library is definitely a thing! How cute!

    1. I have a few ideas for part time workers, it's hard sometimes finding good help with a small population, thanks for reading and commenting
