Signature Brow, 2005

Remar, summer, 2005
Li is 33

Summer was drawing to a close and so was Li's custody of the triplets. She saw enough of her children, or so she thought. Family outings with the triplets, visits to the house to see Matt and now Tobi was talking about taking a family vacation with all the children.

"What did Cameron say about this?" Li asked. "Don't you two have a newborn? I doubt it would be safe to travel with a new baby."

"Well, she would stay at home with Craig and then we could all go."

Li arched her brow. "And just who is 'all of us'?"

"You, me, the triplets and Matt."

"No Cameron?"

"No Cameron or Craig."

Li bit her lip to keep from laughing aloud. Was her ex-husband crazy? Did he really think his girlfriend would allow him to travel for an extended holiday with his ex-wife. She knew that she intimidated the young woman, but honestly, she didn't have feelings for her ex. Sexual tension, maybe, but not feelings. Thankfully that tension was relived with the occasional friendly visit bewteen the couple. Li made no effort to hide the fact that she was merely using Tobi for those times when her toys were not enough and she needed the warmth of a hot blooded male beside her. Tobi for his part, didn't seem to mind, but Li could tell that he was still trying to make the relationship more than what it was.

"Well? What do you think? A nice little family vacation."

"I'll think about it." Li mumbled.

Tobi watched as she walked towards the kids on the playground. Perhaps he came on a bit too strong, but he still couldn't get her out of his mind. True, it had been quite a bit of time since their last visit together and lately he had been dreaming about her. Not just in a carnal way either, he was dreaming about having his happy family back with Li by his side, wearing her wedding band again. He knew it wasn't fair or realistic. He was a new father again and Cameron was pressuring him to get married. He wouldn't mind planning a proposal...just not to Cameron. What if he had another chance with Li? Would it be different? Would he be able to give her what she needed?

Li swung her children around with all the upper body strength her training sessions with Tobi had given her. She knew that she would never win the mother of the year award, but she did love her children. Her co-workers still couldn't believe that she was the mother of four children, they also couldn't fanthom how she was able to allow their father to have primary custody. It was unheard of, most mothers had custody.

Li wasn't most mothers. She knew that with four children under her feet she wouldn't be able to live in her loft, throw the parties she throws,

enjoy the quiet times of solitude spent dreaming up designs for new projects and solving issues with existing ones,

focus on her projects and network with the sims she needed to network with or eat the junk food she eats constantly. No, Tobi was always the primary caregiver when they were married and thank goodness, otherwise the family would eat burnt soup everyday.

When Cameron approached the park, her feet stumbled a bit at the sight before her. If she didn't know the sims in front of her, it appeared as if they were having a nice little family outing. The children giggling and laughing, the adults sneaking peeks at each other. It wasn't something you wanted to see when the sims were your boyfriend and his ex-wife. Especially not when you just delivered your boyfriend's youngest child who was now at home with the sitter.

"It's time to go," Cameron said. "The children will be going to bed soon."

Li raised her signature brow at the woman. She could hear the panic in her voice and see the fear in her eyes. Li wondered how long those two would last especially with Tobi sniffing around her like he was.Cameron stared at Li and tried to ignore the tembling in her knees. Li calmly assessed the situation and slowly dragged her eyes up and down the young woman's outfit, trying not to visably gag.

"Congratulations on your new addition." Li offered, helping Simora off of the playground equiptment.

"T-Thank you." Cameron stuttered. She hated that Li had that power over her, to cause her to stutter and be so insecure, so juvenile.

Li followed the couple out of the park as the children unsuccessfully petitioned for more playtime.

"Think about it," Tobi whispered to her.

Li nodded, her mind already scanning her mental black book for an available sim to spend her evening with.

"Bye, mommy." the triplets sang as Li passed out kisses.

"I love you, be good," she whispered to each one.

It looks like Tobi is regretting the divorce, but Li isn't having any of that.

Have you had a sim change their mind and cause so much turmoil in your game?

  1. Li is an interesting woman, and at least she knows herself. It cracked me up when she wondered if Tobi was crazy. It is hard for me to empathize much with Tobi, but you wrote it well, as a deep-down feeling that he acts on but isn't really facing head on.

I have never (yet) had a divorced couple in my game; I never played the Maxis families much (lots of divorce fodder there) and I have been quite controlling of my Sims up until the last six months or so. I'm starting to give them more freedom to make destructive choices, and I have a few Sims that can't decide between all their lovers. It's really frustrating for me though I am trying to go with it more.

For ones like fortune or family, I see them resolving ambivalence eventually. One thing that has worked for my Sims is going on a long vacation with one of the Sims they can't put out of their mind, and it tends to help them roll lesser wants for the other one, and greater wants for the one they are with. I don't know how often that works. Poor Cameron. Don't you feel for her?

  2. I was thinking that Cameron needs to get out of those striped socks and maybe Li would take her more seriously. Geez.

That Li knows exactly who she is! Franscesca is right. It took me awhile to grasp the Sim reality that Li and Tobi broke up. I didn't want to see it happen, but now that I've been to her loft and seen the kind of lifestyle she wants to have, I'm thinking that Tobi needs to quit rocking the boat! LOL! He made a promise to Cameron to love her forever, I sound like a broken record, but it's true! It's confusing for the children, too. I'm sure they wouldn't mind their Mommy and Daddy getting back together but what about little innocent Craig?

Tobi's just fumbling through life right now, and I want to slap him back to Sim reality sometimes. He needs to get a grip. And no wonder Li thinks he's crazy! (I wonder will they do this trip together, though.) Don't get me to start feeling happy again about them getting back together! That would just be downright cruel! ROFL!

  3. I also meant to say, I love, love, love the title of this one! Cute play on words and fitting for Li's signature look she gives off. hahaha.

  4. Oh, gosh, I can't see a vacation with Tobi and Li causing anything but trouble for poor Cameron! I hope cooler heads prevail and Li puts a stop to this idea.

I like how you worked Tobi's want to get engaged to Li into this update.

  5. -Francesca, I do feel for Cameron. Right now neither Tobi nor Cameron are rolling wants for each other at the moment. Cameron is focused on the kids while Tobi is all about Li. Maybe they're just stressed at the moment.

-SH, thanks, I've been taking random words from the update to create the titles. LOL, I think Cameron is the only sim who would wear that outfit right now, but you're right, the socks are a bit much especially for a future Rogue Botanist. Maybe Tobi does need an actual slap...he's trying hard, thankfully Li isn't falling for it.

-Carla, thanks. I thought about taking photos of their wants, but I like working the wants into the updates better-especially since I only use the in-game camera. I think you're right about the vacation being nothing but trouble.

  6. Um, yikes, the last thing Tobi and Li need to do is take a vacation together! Come on, Tobi, you've got a girlfriend and a new baby at home. Li seems to know what she wants and family life isn't it, so he needs to back off and move on. I feel bad for Cameron though. She needs to find a man that really loves her and is dreaming about her instead of his ex!

  7. -Shana, I feel a bit bad for Tobi as well since he loves so hard and deep and he's so confused right now. Cameron doesn't know about his conflicting feelings, I don't know what would happen if she found out.

  8. I really hope Li decides not to go on that vacation with Tobi. I think what she really needs to do is let him go and stop sleeping with him. It is just giving him false hope.

    Poor Cameron.

  9. -Oasis Valley, perhaps you should try telling Li and Tobi to stop sleeping with each other. Oh, while you're at it, please tell Jesse to stop knocking up his wife. :P Seriously, Li can be a bit...stubborn, but I don't think she wants to be a homewrecker either-just get her itch scratched and send him back home to his girlfriend.

  10. Isn't there someone else that can scratch that itch for Li?

  11. -Francesca, LOL! I wish. Li doesn't have an high attraction to any sim, she does have a tendency to make booty calls and she maintains a large circle of friends. I think Tobi is going to have to learn to say no when she calls. I popped in their townhouse the other day and thankfully he doesn't have the desire to propose to Li anymore-whew!
