Financial Director Note: Hood Council Report 2005

Rebecca Wilsonoff

It is time for my report regarding the finances of the hood.

Loans
We are now using a third party vendor to handle our loans, CJ Loans. Residents still visit the administrative office where they meet with me to discuss loan options. CJ Loans allows us greater flexibility in interest rates as well as less administrative paperwork.

Audit of Families Networth
We performed an audit of the network of our hood residents and published them below. This includes the value of their homes, businesses, cash reserves and loans.

  • Dawson 52,216.00
  • Grey 47,935.00
  • Herendez 125,204.00
  • Humphrey 32,339.00
  • Kent 112,783.00
  • McMillian 78,135.00
  • Peterson 38,452.00
  • Shazad 41,256.00
  • Sweeny 41,536.00
  • Warwick 190,007.00
  • Wilsonoff 97,864.00
  • Yoo 62,462.00
  • Humphrey-Faith 10,541.00
Administration Office Remodel
The Administration Office is in need of remodel. In addition to adding a small library and gift shop, we will add offices for some of the county council members. The County Council President already has an office, however we will add offices for the Financial Director and Community Director. With the addition of the offices, residents will no longer have to discuss their business in the conference room or in the lobby. Li Yoo will be in charge of the renovations which are expected to be completed by the end of 2005.

Additional Residential Homes
Due to the limitations of living in a gated apartment community, we're going to build new residential homes in a gated non-apartment community. This move will allow residents of the gated community to be able to alter the structure of their homes without undue limitations. The new gated community will be located near the Simian Visitor Centre and bordered by Fort Apple and Apple Valley Academy.

Rebuilding of Daniels Landing
Daniels Landing is in need of renovation. Residents have complained of leaking roofs and unwanted pests. Li Yoo has made an assessment of the property and determined that the walls are riddled with fungi and the building must be demolished. The newly rebuilt building should be completed by the end of 2005.

Renovation vs Rebuilding of School Building
Johan Dawson is preparing a report to present to the county council regarding the options of renovating the current school or building a much larger school to house the expected rise in student enrollment.

  1. That is one of the main drawbacks of apartments...not being able to alter the structure without "undue limitations."

I need to do taxes again...

  2. So AV, did my form help? That's a nice piece of change you collected.

  3. I'm really interested in hearing about your loans system. The interest on Monique's computer is so high. I'm usually trying to take money away from my Sims but my poorer Sims really take a beating with those loans!

  4. -Francesca, I hated to make the move since I loved the whole "seamless neighborhood" illusion.

-Laurel Crossing, it is a pretty big chunk of simoleans. Good thing too since there are so major changes in store for the hood. Johan has been petitioning for a brand new school-which doesn't come cheap and of course the remodel.

-Carla, The Loan Jar is from Cyjon (http://drupal.cyjon.net/) allows you to set loans from 1% to 9% which is great.

  5. I was going to ask what is the CJ Loan? LOL! Thanks for the link! SH needs to revamp it's loan system too. I agree with Carla, the interest on Monique's computer is outrageous. Most of my Sims aren't rich.

Daniels Landing sounds like it really needs fixing up. I really love the name of it. Buildings get older and decay as time moves on...it's nice to see when hoods rebuild/refurbuish old buildings, and how they do it. You collected a lot in taxes, that should be a nice chunk of change to do all this work with.

  6. -SH, a lot of my sims are richer than I want them to be, so the loans help...a bit. Daniels Landing gets its name from the Greymount/Apple Valley's TS1's resident Jack Daniels. I wonder if there are any of his descendants around...the building looks distinguished and older.
