Hood Council Meeting, 2015

Remar, summer, 2015

S'Ahmisa called the meeting to order. "I've been thinking that we might need to pursue an opportunity to reshape our terrain. I want to know if we follow that opportunity, what are some things we should consider?"

"Aesthetics, of course. We want the new terrain to look fashionable and sleek."

"Also, views. Spectacular views."

"Let's not forget ease of travel. If we continue the ban on personal vehicles  we need compact spaces and plenty of options for public transit."

"Are we considering having separated areas in the new terrain? If so, these areas could be connected via bridges and trains."

"Those are all great options, we'll also send out surveys to the residents seeking their opinion."

"O, before I forget, if you plan on running for the council, make sure to submit your name before the end of the simyear."

What things should I consider in making a new terrain?

  1. I love how your hood is constantly progressing!I'm excited to see your new terrain when it's complete.I always draw a rough idea of how I want each area position relative toward one another, and if they will connect via road bridges and/or train bridges. Also, this won't probably be a problem for you, but I always make my islands too big at first, and constantly scale them down, because they look much smaller in simcity in comparison to sims 2.

    1. Thanks, it usually progresses, or changes, due to having to rebuild once the hood gets corrupted. I've played the same hood since the game released in 2004, so there have been a lot of rebuilds in the almost 10 years I've been playing Apple Valley. Now I'm trying to work smarter and have a new hood being built as the old one slowly does, lol. Thanks for reading and commenting,

  2. Goodness, I am the last person to ask about town planning! I do close to zero in my own hood. I just plonk things down and move them if I don't like it, lol. I admire simmers like you who put such thought into their hoods.

    1. Lol, I think because I use such small terrains I tend to over think things a bit. Thanks for reading and commenting.

  3. That is a lot of rebuilding you've done over the years! I think I've done it four times with Millwood, but nearly all of them were for changing computers, and then having something go haywire, or me making rookie mistakes. I'm looking forward to seeing your new hood, but I do really like the one that you have created.

    1. Thanks, a lot of it will be recreated, but the new terrain will allow me to add more options to the hood. Thanks for reading and commenting.
