Tobi is 36; Aaron and Simora are 9; Matt is 5 (Gavin Benson is 34; Cameron Smith is 31, Craig Smith is 3, Christopher Smith is 2)
Tobi struggled through his last repetition, trying not to think about his muscles straining against the weight. He was getting older, he was almost forty, yet he didn't feel as old.
His kids were older, Matt was starting kindergarten and reminded Tobi of his mother.
Simora had taken Matt under her wing,
or at least had convinced him to do the bidding of his big sister.
That didn't last long as Matt soon found other friends his age to play with. Right now his bestest friend in the whole world was Chase Dawson who would also be starting kindergarten this fall.
Aaron had friends of his own, but Tobi worried about Simora. She didn't speak of friends and brought no children home with her to play.
He pushed through another rep, ignoring the pain shooting through his legs.
The pain helped him to forget the phone call he got two simweeks ago.
"Craig wants his siblings to be there. Do you think you can make it?"
Of course. How could he deny her. She had given him so much and now she was happy.
She said that they were in love and that she couldn't imagine life without him.
He remembered when she said those things about him as well.
He grunted one last time, startling his gym neighbor. He smiled and allowed his eyes to survey her body. He recognized her, she spent almost as much time in the gym as he did.
Krissy was her name and she was very pretty. She had these large expressive eyes and these soft lips that he dreamed about. However, she also started bringing around some other guy. Tobi didn't know him very well, but recognized the steely look in his eye as belonging to a sim that you didn't want to mess with. He was introduced to him one day and the hair on his body stood up when he said his name, Alphonso Pentragnani. It didn't take long to look up the fact that he was a part of the long rumored mafia family that started in the old dimension when superstar Alisa Crawston married Jarrel Pennelson/Pentragnani. He couldn't prove that Alphonso was an official member of the family, but he knew enough not to ask.
His workout and personal viewing session was over, he needed to get three children dressed and ready within three hours and keep them clean. Not a small feat at all. For the most part, the children sat still during the entire ceremony.
Of course there was some squirming, but candy helped with that.
Tobi watched as Cameron promised her life to this man, this Gavin. He watched as she promised to be with him during sickness and health, until death separated them.
It was what she wanted all along. Something so simple. A white dress off the rack, a bouquet of flowers from the supermarket tied with a simple hair ribbon and a small cake in the courthouse surrounded with cheap plastic decor. Most all she wanted a promise, a committment. It didn't take much at all, but it was something that Tobi couldn't give her.
Even now, watching her marry the love of her life as she called him, he knew that he couldn't give her that. He loved her so very much and was still attracted to her. She was the woman he loved the most. He loved her more than Li, more than Ginger even.
Isn't that what true love is all about?

Sorry, Blogger was acting strange, so this one is a bit late/on time :\
So Cameron finally got her wedding. But why do I think she's only getting married to make Tobi miss her more. To make him jealous. Which, btw, is never a good idea. Too many people end up getting hurt.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Cameron finally got the commitment she wanted. It's sad that Tobi couldn't give that to her after all the time they were together, but I hope that she'll have the happily ever after she wants.
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm really glad Cameron found someone - I hope she's very happy with Gavin.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been at least a little difficult for Tobi to watch her marry another man, even if he recognises that he can't give her what she needs.
I'm happy Cameron is with someone who really makes her happy.
ReplyDeletePoor Tobi though, it seems like Cameron still is the love of his life, and it can't be easy to see her get married to someone else. It makes him a good man though, that he wants nothing but happiness for her.
I started to read this one before blogger went down, but got distracted. I was waiting for it to come back up. I can't believe Cameron is getting married already. I guess she's the kind of girl, that if you don't snatch her up, someone else will. It's kind of bittersweet for Tobi and sad that he couldn't give her such a simple, but important thing. I truly hope Gavin really is the true love of her life and not just someone who was willing to make a commitment and marry her. She deserves to be happy.
ReplyDelete-Carla, at the moment she doesn't have a choice but to be happy with Gavin :) She's a non-playable now, so she gets her little bit of happiness, but only time will tell if Tobi will be ok with that.
ReplyDelete-Tanja, he does want her happiness, but Tobi has high ideals about marriage and doesn't enter into it lightly, so even though he loved (loves) her very much, he didn't get that marriage bug (want).
-Em, she does deserve happiness. I felt awful for her since I thought that she and Tobi would be together forever-at least according to the ACR stats. I figured that after waiting around for him to commit, she deserved a "happily ever after" and so she got Gavin :)
Ah, I feel for Tobi with this, it's one thing to find out that your ex, that you still have feelings for, is getting married, it's another entirely, being asked to attend. Kind of mean of Cameron to do that really. I hope Tobi is happy, and can focus on his kids, and let that be enough, since he doesn't want marriage at the moment.
ReplyDelete-Maisie, I suppose it's a bit mean, but Tobi would have to interact with the new family somehow and of course I wanted you guys to know that Cameron does get her happily ever after...it was rather quickly, but those two are family sims and you just can't stop family sims :) I think Tobi is a romantic at heart, so I doubt he'll "just focus on kids"
ReplyDeleteIm glad that Cameron has finally found someone. As sad as I was when Tobi and her separated, it was definately for the better.
ReplyDeleteIt was very supportive of Toby to come to her wedding. It must've been really hard though.
Great update!
-coolkat2, thanks for reading. I hated that Tobi and Cameron didn't work out, but I wasn't going to force it :( so of course I had to give her a "happy ending"
