Ilila wished that she didn't have to give this sort of news to parents. To tell a parent that their child had special needs and would require additional help was never an easy pill to swallow.
Thankfully Johan was there to make it easier
and surprisingly, Julio was calm about the entire matter. "I noticed some differences," he offered.
In the span of a few moments, they had successfully mapped out a plan for Abel to enter into the special education program to get the additional help that he needed.
Ilila's day wasn't about to get any better in spite of the calm morning meeting.
"Ms. Peterson?" Wendy whispered in the empty hallway.
"Yes?"
"I...I'm in trouble."
"What's wrong?"
"I'm pregnant," the girl whispered holding her hands to her small belly.
So Rojo's extracurricular activities had finally caught up with him.
"Oh...ah...have you, have you seen a doctor yet?"
"No, they'll tell my parents and I haven't even told the guy."
"You should start with that first." Ilila bluntly told her. She then inwardly kicked herself. She was sure that this young girl needed nurturing and warmth and affection, maybe even a hug, but a life spent growing up in a structured and disciplined military family left Ilila with few nurturing skills...besides hugs were not her thing.
"I know...I'm scared."
"You're pregnant and you have some decisions to make, you have to face your fear and make some tough choices right now."
Ilila wished she was pregnant and had tough choices to make. It was always the case that the infertile couple would be surrounded by fertile sims and young couples that didn't want to be pregnant, but are.
"I...I know...thanks for...for listening."
"Not a problem. Let me know if you need anything else, ok." She answered scribbling her number on a piece of paper from her desk. "Feel free to call me."
"Thanks again," Wendy said wrapping the woman in a tight hug.
"Uh...you're...welcome."

Wendy did tell Rojo and they together told his parents.
Carmela knew from the moment the girl sat down at the table what she was about to hear. She also knew that her son was not at all responsible enough to care for a child, he could barely wipe his behind!

Baby Keller/Herendez is due Givar 2008
Haha Ilila did as good a job as she could! That's a tough thing to hear and its hard to offer advice when the girl is already as scared as a deer in headlights! Rojo couldn't escape this fate for very long could he?
ReplyDeleteI think Ilila did a good job trying to provide some guidance for Wendy, given Ilila's lack of nurturing skills and her own troubles that make this situation harder for her.
ReplyDelete"She also knew that her son was not at all responsible enough to care for a child, he could barely wipe his behind!" lol!! :D
" He could barely wipe his behind!" I lol'd soo hard at that!
ReplyDeletePoor Wendy, pregnant..:( Maybe Illia and her husband could adopt her baby when it's born? Cuz I know Rojo will never help take care of it, and the poor girl can't do it on her own.
Great update!:)
Did you stage the last picture? Wendy's posture seems very fitting for this situation.
ReplyDelete-Mizzgin03, you're right. Rojo reminds me a bit of Bill-but Rojo isn't a romance sim at all, he's pleasure...I guess he likes his pleasure in certain ways :\
ReplyDelete-Shana, thanks for reading and commenting. I actually hear quite a few parents use that quote and thought it was fitting in this situation.
-Coolkat2, thanks for the idea about adoption. I hadn't considered that for Ilila and Brandon. You're right, Wendy nor Rojo are in a position to care for the child, Wendy is in foster care herself.
-Ani, thanks for reading and commenting. The last photo actually wasn't staged, Wendy was the last one to sit down at the table and she's in the process of pushing her chair in.
Oh, poor Wendy! I hope Ilila can be somewhat of a support to her, if she doesn't feel like she can talk to anyone else. I wonder what Rojo's feelings are on the matter!
ReplyDeleteAnd LOL, I was wondering what on earth the title meant and then it all became clear at the end!
-Carla, Rojo views it as an inconvience to his life and the pursuit of pleasure, he's not very mature to say the least. Glad the title was clear later on :)
ReplyDeletePoor Ilia, to want to be pregnant, than having a young girl pregnant coming to her for advice. I think she handled it well, considering she isn't big into hugs and all that oozy-emotion stuff. I feel bad for Wendy too, Rojo doesn't seem ready for this responsibility at all.
ReplyDeleteI can't help but hope that Ilia gets Wendy's baby. I mean, if she and Rojo put it up for adoption. I feel so bad that she can't get pregnant.
ReplyDelete-Maisie, thanks for reading and commenting. Ilila just isn't a hugger, she does more of those "side hugs" with an extra pat type of sim, so Wendy was a bit awkward for her to handle.
ReplyDelete-Riverdale, Ilila and Brandon are definately still struggling with thier fertility issues. Rojo and Wendy thankfully recognize that they can't care for a child, so this baby will be placed for adoption.
